As most of you know, last night premiered the 55th Grammy Awards on TV. When my eyes were not glued on the gorgeous John Mayer (*sigh*), I was assessing the lovely dresses of the night. From Cavalli all the way to Gucci, there was not one dull moment in the fashion department. Below is a list of my top five leading ladies in their breathtaking Grammys glamour.
1. First place goes to the much deserved, Rihanna, in her red Azzedine Alaia gown. The bold red lips, loosely curled locks, and gorgeous jewels made her stand out most in my eyes.
2. Second place goes to the goddess worthy Taylor Swift in her white J. Mendel gown. I love the silver lining, it adds an alluring pop to the dress and makes for lovely back detail.
3. Third place was a close tie between Carrie Underwood and Carly Rae Jepson, both of which wore Roberto Cavalli. I decided to go with Carly Rae because I’m a sucker for grey and sequins. She has both, so I bow down graciously. The combo of her dark choppy locks with the dress give her a very edgy look.
4. Next comes the elegant Carrie Underwood. The woman could wear a paper bag and still look like a model. Her Roberto Cavalli dress fits her like a glove. Nothing says romance more than black and nude lace, and she nails it!
5. Last but not least, the gorgeous Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town, wearing a cream Maria Luisa Hohan dress. The combo of her adorable curly locks and feather detail is so fun and fresh. It makes me want to go grab a cocktail with her and gossip about Katy Perry’s monstrosity of a dress.
That is my note-worthy list of celebrities from the Grammys. Each woman stood out to me not only by what she was wearing, but also how she represented herself while in the dress. Because we all know YOU are the one who should be wearing the dress, NOT the dress wearing you.
